Block: Multiple choice questions

Updated this week

The Multiple Choice block lets you gather structured feedback from participants by giving them a list of predefined answer options. You can set it up for single-select (where participants choose just one answer) or multi-select (where they can pick multiple answers).

Setting up your multiple choice answers

Question Types

  • Single select: Participants can choose only one answer

  • Multi select: Participants can choose multiple answers

First, decide which type fits your research needs by selecting the appropriate option.

Answers

Simply type each option in the input field and click "Add answer" for additional options. Try to create comprehensive but concise choices that cover the range of likely responses.

Show "Other" option

Toggle this on to allow participants to provide a custom response. When selected, participants will see a text field to enter their own answer

Randomise order

Toggle this on to present answer options in a random order for each participant. This helps reduce potential bias from the order of answer choices.

Writing multiple choice questions

When writing your question, aim for clarity and neutrality. Your question should feel natural and easy to understand. For example, "Which features do you use most often in the application?" works well, while "Don't you think our new features are better than the old ones?" might bias your results.

Adding Context

The "Additional info" field is your chance to provide helpful context. Think of it as the extra information participants might need to fully understand what you're asking. You might include relevant scenarios or clarifications here that help frame the question.
