Figma: Prototype sharing permissions

Setting up permissions on your Figma prototype for unmoderated testing

Updated over 2 months ago

This guide will help you set up your Figma prototype permissions correctly for unmoderated prototype testing on Askable. Proper configuration ensures that you can import your prototype seamlessly and participants can access it to complete the tasks.

Figma file permissions

Your Figma file can have restricted access (Only those invited), especially if your designs contain sensitive information. As long as your Figma account is connected to Askable, you'll be able to import and set up the file in the study builder.

Prototype sharing permissions

Set your Figma prototype permissions to Anyone can view and can view to ensure participants are able to access your prototype to complete the test.

Password protected prototypes

Askable supports password-protected prototypes, allowing you to add an extra layer of security while still enabling participant access.

  • When importing your password protected prototype into Askable, you'll be prompted to enter this password

The password will be securely saved against the Figma file. Participants will be provided the password during the study before they begin the prototype test.

How Participants Access Password-Protected Prototypes

Participants invited to your unmoderated study can seamlessly access password-protected Figma prototypes. The system automatically handles password authentication if you have provided it in the builder during setup, allowing participants to focus on completing their tasks without technical barriers.

1. Participant copies the provided password when they reach the prototype test block.

2. Participant enters the password into the Figma password window that appears.

3. Participant accesses the prototype and completes the task as usual once authenticated.
