The insight page builder looks and works similar to popular document builder tools — think Notion, Coda, or similar. On top of the usual content blocks, you can embed evidence in the form of Highlights or Reels. This means you can directly share captivating stories from your research within Askable.
First, here’s how you go to Insights
At the top right of your projects and participant recruitment screen, you’ll notice a button called “Manage insights”. When you click this button, it launches a new tab which is where you create and manage all your insights.
Add a byline, title, and description
When you create a new insight, you’ll land on an plain empty page builder 📝. Begin typing the byline, title, and description for the insight.
Using the / slash command
The / command is your new go-to in the insight page builder. This magic key summons a menu packed with block types including content blocks, column layouts, media, and the amazing embed evidence. Have a play and create!
Embed evidence
The first block type you’ll find is the embed evidence which includes Highlight and Reel. With Highlight, drop the highlights you've made in playback right into your insights. With Reel, you can weave together multiple highlights to tell a compelling story.
Content blocks
These are your bread and butter for crafting your insight page. Text, headings (H1, H2, H3), paragraphs, quotes, bullets, and more – all the usual suspects are here.
Column layouts
With our insight page builder, you're constructing pages that shine on any screen 🖥️. Use our two or three column blocks to polish that layout and make sure your message lands perfectly.
Media
Boost the engagement factor by sprinkling your insights with visuals. After all, a picture 🖼️ can speak volumes!
💡 Quick tip
To make your insight page look more appealing, start by inserting columns first. Then, you can easily add your evidence or content blocks within these columns. This will help you create a visually appealing and organised layout. Give it a try and make your insights shine! ✨
Start writing with the content blocks
Craft compelling insights using headings and subheadings with H1, H2, and H3 types. Break down complex ideas using bullets. Highlight important sections with line separators and let quotes shine with auto-styling. Don't forget to spruce things up with media... and more! Your creativity is the limit.
Highlighting text
Highlight any text to bring up a toolbox of options. Whether you want to add a hyperlink, drop a comment, or style your text with bold, italics, or underlines, it's all just a click away.
Rearrange your blocks
Simply hover over a block and grab the ⋮⋮ icon. While dragging, blue guides will help you aim where to place it. Just let go of your mouse and there you have it! Your block lands exactly where you want it.
Creating columns
Sometimes, it makes sense to put pieces of information next to each other. In these situations, you can use the two or three column blocks. Once you place the block, you can use the slash command again to insert anything within that column.
Uploading images
Choosing the image block via the slash command adds a placeholder to your page. Click on it and you'll see options to either upload an image or use a URL. Do keep in mind, images work best when they're within 1280px width and under 5MB in size.
Embed evidence
Bring the human element into every insight. Add a single highlight or stitch them together into a single, compelling narrative to bring robust evidence into your insights. More on highlights and reels here.
