This guide will walk you through the process of setting up participant recruitment for your unmoderated study. Follow these steps to define your participant requirements, audience demographics and screener questions.
Quota
Set the number of participants you want to recruit using the slider or enter a specific number
The quota represents the maximum number of participants who can complete your study
The maximum is 50 participants per unmoderated study
Device requirements
Choose from three options to specify which devices participants can use:
Any device: Participants can complete the study on any device
Mobile only: Restricts participants to mobile devices
Desktop only: Restricts participants to desktop computers
Important: Select a device requirement that matches your prototype test environment. If you're testing a desktop prototype, avoid selecting "Any device" or "Mobile only" as this may lead to compatibility issues during the study. For example, a desktop prototype may not display or function correctly on mobile devices.

Enter city, region, or country names
Multiple locations can be added to expand your recruitment area

Enter your question text
Select the question type:
Short answer: For free-text responses

Add answers and select if you want the participant response to qualify or disqualify them from recruitment.
Add a description if needed to provide additional context
Opportunity listing
Give your audience a short, one sentence summary on what kind of people you're looking for. Focus on the most important criteria for you. This is what will attract the right participants to apply for your study.
Submitting your study
After setting up your recruitment criteria, review all settings to ensure they align with your study requirements.
Remember: You cannot modify recruitment settings after participants begin joining your study, so ensure all criteria are correctly set before submission.
After completing all the recruitment setup steps, your study is ready for submission to the Askable review team.
Once your study is submitted it will be reviewed by Askable to ensure the quality of the study. Studies are generally reviewed within three business hours of submission.
After a successful review, your study will be set to active. Your study will immediately go live on the platform, making it accessible to potential participants. Participant recruitment will begin and selected participants will start providing responses. Participant responses will start appearing on the results page.
