To create a new unmoderated study, head to your Studies page and click the 'New' button above the studies table. Scroll to the bottom of the page where you'll find the 'Create Unmoderated Study' option; clicking this will launch the study builder.

Every study includes a welcome screen by default. Introduce participants to your study by adding a custom welcome message and help them understand what will be required of them.

Along with the welcome screen every study ends with a thank you screen by default. This is the final screen displayed after participants have completed all tasks and questions. Thank the participants for their time and responses.

Your study will start with the default welcome and thank you screens, and everything else goes in between. Click the 'Add block' button to insert new content and choose from the available task and question block types.

You can arrange added blocks in any order you'd like. Just drag and drop them into position, participants will move through your study from top to bottom, starting with the welcome screen and finishing with the thank you screen.

You can capture participant thoughts and interactions with recording on task block types. By enabling screen recording along with camera and microphone recording you can capture enhanced qualitative data without having to conduct a moderated research study.

​Note: Participants will be prompted to enable screen, camera and microphone permissions in their desktop web browser or mobile device prior to conducting the study. If a participant stops recording while conducting the study their submission will be cancelled.

You can preview your study at any time by clicking the preview button in the header. This lets you experience the study exactly as your participants will, without recording any results.

The preview window offers two ways to navigate the study; progress through the study step by step as a participant would or use the left menu to jump directly to specific blocks.

If you have recording enabled, you can simulate the permissions requests and recording feedback from the welcome screen.

Remember to test your study on both desktop and mobile views to ensure it works smoothly on all platforms. If you've selected a single device type in your recruit settings, the preview will match that selected device.

Share your study preview by clicking the share link in the header. This copies a link to your current build that you can send to stakeholders for review.
