[BYO] I want to recruit my own participants
[BYO] I want to recruit my own participants

You can use Askable to recruit your own participants and here's how!

Updated over 6 months ago

Bring Your Own (BYO), Self Recruit, Use your own database. Whatever you call it, this is about using an existing database that you already have access to rather than having to find people only on the Askable panel. This is commonly used with your valued members, customers or users.

πŸ€” Why use Askable?

The benefits of managing your research in one central spot!

Managing your own participants can be time-intensive and conversion rates may be lower as compared to our pool of participants that are familiar with Askable.

βš™οΈ How does it work?

  1. Select Your Audience, instead of Askable Panel when setting up your Study

2. Complete the rest of your Study setup, grab a coffee and wait for approval by the Askable Team

3. Once your awesome Study is live, head to the Recruitment Tab, copy the invite link to be sent to your participants via the channel of your choice. Whether that's a snazzy Email Campaign, SMS, community groups, or snail mail (maybe not that one), the goal is to basically send it to whoever you want to be a part of your research!

We generally & historically see an approximate 10% of conversion for BYO Studies. E.g. broadcasting our 100 emails to your customers gets you 10 Askable applications.

4. From there, it runs like any other Study, allowing you to manage, invite, schedule and pay your participants.

πŸ‘‰ Wondering what your participants experience?

This is what it looks like for participants to apply for a BYO Opportunity of yours. PLUS, they are not obliged to be part of our panel

πŸ‘‰ Curious how your participants get paid?

Option 1 - PayPal (they have to have a verified PayPal account)
Option 2 - Gift Cards via email to spend at a variety of retailers

Customise your Brand's Landing Page!

Let's be real, when speaking to your own customers, you want their experience to be great and your company's reputation to be protected.

While Askable's known by many, some of your customers may feel more comfortable knowing it's your brand utilising the Askable platform to facilitate the research.

As the Admin of your team, you can customise the landing page copy for your BYO Recruit.

You can change this to cater to the specifics of your research but generic works too!

FAQs

Do you store participants data of those I find?

  • We only hold the information of people that accept your invitation and apply for that Study.

  • We do not have any information on people who you send the invite link to that do not apply.

  • In order to easily communicate and also take care of paying the incentive, we require certain personal information.

What happens to participant data once they are invited?

  • Only once your participant has opted in to be part of your project, we create a siloed account that is attached to your Study and organisation, for the duration of your project.

  • Thereafter, they do have the option to sign up to becoming a 'full' Askable participant and participate in other research opportunities.

Will my participants be bombarded with communication from Askable?

  • Whilst your participants are involved in your project, they will receive standard notifications and payment notifications to ensure your project is delivered smoothly.

  • If they choose to join the Askable participant pool, they will receive standard communication from Askable on future opportunities to participate in research.

How do incentives work?

  • Like all Studies with the Askable panel, the incentive is included in your credit purchase.

  • We calculate the best incentive to ensure it is worth the participant's time. If you would like to find out more about incentives, learn more here.

What if I want to set my own Incentive?

If you would like to incentivise your participants a custom incentive, we can work with you to convert that into a credit value. Just chat with a team member and we'll sort it out for you!
