How to use Segments

Use segments to help narrow down your list & optimise your views

Updated over a week ago

Why use Segments?

Segments is a great way to (you guessed it) segment applicants based on key criteria. This provides a way to quickly identify and invite the right mix of participants for your research. An example of a segment could be:

"Anyone between the ages of 16 - 30 who lives in Queensland"

Saving this segment based on those filters means that anyone who fits that criteria will be added automatically and display in the segment list.

Creating a Segment

To create a new segment use the Filter button in the top left of the table to apply and adjust filters, you can also use the the fields button to hide or reorder any columns for your view. Then click save as segment and give it a clear descriptive name. Once saved you'll be able to access your saved segments

  • All segments are accessed via the panel on the left of the screen. This panel can be opened and collapsed using the button to the left of the page title

Deleting a Segment

  • Navigate to the segment

  • Select ‘Delete’ in the dropdown menu to the right of the page title

Who can see Segments?

  • Anyone on your team can view the same segments

  • Anyone in your team can create, edit, update and delete segments

  • Segments are stored against the individual Study and not against your account

This is a perfect way for the Askable Support Team to create some example segments for you, which you can view from your end for seamless collaboration!

What information can be saved against a Segment?

  • Any applied filters

  • Active/inactive fields

  • Field order

  • Shortlisted applicants. Note: Shortlisting someone is global across the Study, not per segment
