Welcome to Askable! Whether it's your first time or you're a seasoned pro, here's what to expect — from signing up to getting paid.

Sign up and answer a few initial questions in under 60 seconds. We just need a few key details to start sending you opportunities. See How do I join Askable?

Your profile is your superpower for getting selected. Spend a few minutes adding your experiences, interests, and background so you match more studies — complete profiles are up to 4x more likely to be selected. See How to Boost your Profile.

Head to the Explore tab and apply to opportunities that match you — like raising your hand to say "I'm interested!" You'll answer a few study-specific questions so the researcher can see if you're the right fit. See How to apply.

Researchers review applications and look for a mix of voices and demographics. If you match, you'll be notified and invited, then you confirm or decline. Online tasks, surveys, and AI interviews you can start immediately. (Invited ≠ guaranteed spot — see waitlist and why ineligible.)

Once confirmed, we send the details — date, time, and any special instructions.

On the day, find a quiet, comfortable spot. If online, make sure your device is charged, your connection is strong, and your mic and camera work. See Sessions Troubleshooting.

Take your time, answer everything in detail, talk aloud if asked, and remember to mark yourself Complete for tasks done outside Askable.

Interactive sessions where you share opinions and experiences, sometimes using a website/app while thinking aloud. Be yourself — your feedback makes products better.

Log in a few minutes early. For Askable Sessions video calls, your link arrives by email 15 minutes before and is in the opportunity itself. For third-party tools, the facilitator sends a link via Messages or email. In person? Arrive ~10 minutes early. See Finding your meeting link.

Just be yourself — there's no right or wrong way. Be honest, open, and go into detail. See the Participant Etiquette Guide.

When you finish, you'll usually get a text message to mark your attendance so you can claim your incentive — or the researcher marks you complete on your behalf (common if you don't get a message). If the opportunity says "Session complete," there's nothing more to do.

Your reward then processes through Pending check → Pending → Rewarded, usually within up to 5 business days, paid by PayPal or e-gift card. Track it in Profile → Rewards.
