Updated over 6 months ago

Research opportunities come in many different shapes & sizes at Askable.
โ€‹
As a Participant, you can choose to apply for the opportunity types that suit you most!

๐Ÿ“น Video Calls

Video calls are one of the most popular opportunities you will come across within our platform.
โ€‹
They can be conducted in a 1 on 1 session OR a group environment (Focus Group)
โ€‹
Video Calls can either be run on Askable's Video Call tool - Askable Sessions. OR you will be sent a meeting link if the Video Call is to be run on a Third Party Tool like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meets.
โ€‹
Video calls can also be conducted on many different devices and their requirements are normally stated when applying for the opportunity or when being invited to attend.

You may be required to complete a Tech Check before your session in order to accept the invite. Tech Checks are to be completed on either a laptop or desktop computer.
โ€‹
The laptop/desktop must also have a working microphone, webcam and the check will also test your internet to make sure it can handle the call as well.

What happens if I don't have a Laptop or Desktop computer?

  • You will be able to take part in may of our other opportunities such as surveys or mobile video calls

๐Ÿงฎ Surveys

Surveys are a great way for researchers to gather quick feedback from the population!

You can participate in Surveys on-the-go, at home, at work generally within 5 to 10 minutes.

After you have completed a Survey, don't forget to come back to your Askable Account to Mark yourself as Complete to ensure you get paid

๐Ÿ“ฑ Online Tasks

Similar to Surveys, Online Task are digital activities that get you to contribute to a website or design.
โ€‹
Commons online tasks involve asking you to find a certain information in a Menu, sorting cards to the right place or speaking out loud on what you think about a design!

After you have completed a Online Task, don't forget to come back to your Askable Account to Mark yourself as Complete to ensure you get paid

๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ In Person

In Person session on Askable can be run in different formats. You may be asked to travel & meet your researcher at their workplace, meet at a public spot (library, cafe, shared work space), OR in the comfort of your own home/office!

In Person sessions offer participants an exclusive opportunity to contribute to research in an intimate & unique way. In person interactions & conversations can really make a meaningful impact in research.

You may receive perks, parking, accessibility support or travel compensation* based on each Opportunity detail.

๐Ÿ“š Diary / Ongoing / Multi-Step Studies

You may come across Diary Studies on Askable - this means you are participating in an ongoing research to test a full experience.
โ€‹
This is commonly used in research to test a Shopping Experience, a Software, or your behaviours across a set period of time.
โ€‹
Such studies can range from a few days, week or months. Your commitment to the task will be appropriately compensated normally with a higher incentive amount as compared to a Video Call or Survey.
โ€‹
โ€‹

Note that a failure to complete a Diary Study in full, you forfeit the full incentive too. So make sure you are invested & able to commit before participating ๐Ÿค“
