๐Ÿ“น Video Call

Video Calls are most commonly used by researchers across Askable. We believe that speaking to your customers is the best way to do research. By running discovery interviews or usability testing via Video Calls, you get the highest quality and maximum depth of information from our lovely participants.
โ€‹

1 on 1 Interviews / IDI Interviews

Select this option when you plan on interviewing or researching one person at a time. This allows you to allocate one person, per session that you create. For example, if you wanted to interview 10 people, you would recruit for 10 participants and then invite each one to their own session time in the Calendar.
โ€‹
This is great for having a private & personal conversation with your customers. Hearing their pain points & feedback directly ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Focus Groups / Discussion Groups

These run very similar to 1 on 1 Interviews, with the main difference being is that it allows you to invite multiple people to the one session that you setup. For example, if you are running two focus groups, both with 5 people in it. Your Study quota would be for 10 people and then you could invite 5 people to each session time.
โ€‹
This is great for allowing participants with commonalities (or differences!) to bounce off ideas & share feedback together as a group.
โ€‹

If you'd like to set a maximum capacity for each focus group session, please contact Support via the Live Chat to request for this.
โ€‹
โ˜๐Ÿผ Note: Askable Sessions is not available to use for Focus Groups at the moment.

๐Ÿงฎ Surveys

Surveys are a great way to put out quick feelers on a design, idea or concept at a high volume.
โ€‹
Askable allows you to link your Surveys created in a Third-Party Survey Tool into a Study. What are your perks of using Askable you ask? You can:

  • Screen & collect data using our Screener Feature

  • Manage participants using the Participant Selection Screen

  • Easily invite or bulk invite participants to your Survey

  • Have participant payments taken care of by Askable

๐Ÿ“ฑ Online Tasks

Many things come under the banner of Online Tasks, these could include...

  • Prototype Tests

  • Click Tests

  • Card Sorts

  • Tree Jacks

  • Video Surveys

  • others

Anything that isn't a simple Survey should be set up as an Online Task. This is to set the expectation for participants to respond accordingly and allows Askable to incentivise them appropriately.

๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ In Person

The OG form of research ๐Ÿ˜Ž If you're wanting to run a Face-to-Face session with participants, this is the way to go.
โ€‹
This is great for physical product testing, food & beverage tasting, or if you simply value meeting your customers!
โ€‹
Same applies here as Video Calls, 1 on 1 Interviews or Focus Group options are available to you for In Person Sessions.
โ€‹

โ›‘๏ธ With the occurrence of COVID and the emergence of remote technology, In Person Sessions are a rare breed. Check out this Article for extra tips!

๐Ÿ“š Longitudinal / Diary / Multi-Step Study

You'll be able to set the time required for participants to participate in your Diary Study across x number of days when setting this up in Askable.
โ€‹
This gives participants an idea of the time commitment required for this study so they can plan ahead.
โ€‹
Unlike other research types, this format basically recruits participants for you and gives you the free space to communicate with them as you wish. You will be using the Messaging function in your Askable Study to share instructions, follow up and chat with participants.
โ€‹
Only when participants have completed the multi-step task in full, you will be able to grant their payments using the Drop Down button next to their names.

This is the only format on Askable that allows you to grant incentives. Other research formats have automate incentives so you don't need to worry about anything!

โœ‚๏ธ Custom Studies

Now, you won't see this option in the setup of Askable or anything like that, but it's important to mention.

Askable can accomodate for a range of possiblities for when need to do something that may not fit into one of the typical boxes. Perhaps you are looking for an extremely niche type of audience or doing a combo of moderated and unmoderated testing with the same people.

Anything along these lines, please reach out to Support via the Live Chat and we can advice on what's the best setup for you.
