What is the application process like?
After signing up, you'll be invited to answer a few questions about your ways of working.
After this has been submitted, our Askable Plus team will review your answers and get back to you with an outcome.
Do I need prior experience to be a +Researcher?
Our Askable Plus researchers are experts in design and research. A proven backlog of UX work is a requirement to be selected as an Askable Plus researcher.
When & How do I get a project?
When a project becomes available, the Askable Plus team will send a notification to any researchers on the panel. Researchers then follow the link in the notification to apply for the opportunity and register their interest.
How am I being notified about upcoming projects?
The Askable Plus team will notify any researchers on the panel about upcoming projects.
I am moving countries. How can i keep getting project opportunities?
You will need to update your mobile number to the one you’ll be using in your new country, by visiting ‘Account & Profile in your account here: app.askable.com/researcher/login. The number of project opportunities you receive may vary depending on the country you are located in.
How do I update my Researcher Profile?

Do I need professional Indemnity Insurance to be an Askable+ Research Partner?
While Professional indemnity insurance is not a requirement to partner with us, we do recommend having in the unlikely likelihood of a claim related to your work as a contractor.
I already have a Client Account, can I become a +Researcher?
To become an Askable Plus researcher you must create a new account as your email will be linked to your client account.
What's the difference between a Client and Researcher on Askable?
In simple terms, a client submits an Askable project because they need research conducted, a researcher is then matched and conducts the research.
How much will I get paid?
Researcher payouts vary from project to project, depending on factors such as number and duration of sessions, deliverables required etc. The payout is calculated by our platform and paid as a lump sum upon successful completion of the project. You will be informed of the project payout prior before you apply so you can decide whether the project is worthy of your time.
How do I get paid?
When you are selected for a project, you will be invited to a project folder in Google Drive, which will contain an invoice template for you to complete once the project has wrapped up. Once submitted, you will be paid within 21 days.
What kind of security measures should I implement to protect the privacy of research participants?
Some examples of ways to protect participant data include: Removal of personally identifiable info where possible, deleting files once a project is complete, keeping your device locked when not in use, not connecting to public wifi, not working in public areas when not necessary e.g. cafes, only sharing files with those directly related to the project etc. If you'd like more info about participant security and privacy best practice, we recommend checking out this article.
I have not used Askable before
No worries! Once you are certified as a Researcher and assigned to a project, we will provide you with onboarding courses & resources to get you set up for success.

Will Askable+ provide the Research Software/Tools to complete the projects?
As an Askable+ Research Partner, you’ll have access to the entire Askable product suite, which includes our recruitment, video call and insight management software. For any non-Askable software, you would usually be expected to bring this yourself (similar to how a tradesmen would bring their own tools to a job, or how an Uber Driver uses their own vehicle for rideshare).
