If your study has been live for a day or more and the list still looks thin, message us on live chat with your study title. Our Fulfilment team will boost recruitment for you. There's no boost button in the app; boosting is something we action for you.
What a boost actually is
A boost is targeted, human-managed recruitment: the team pushes your study to the segments of our panel most likely to match your criteria, in batches, and monitors how it converts. Because it's targeted, the team will usually also look at your study setup, since a boost can't fix a setup that screens the wrong people in or out.
Give it a little time first
If your study went live within the last business day, allow recruitment time to work before asking for a boost. Applications often arrive in waves rather than a steady stream.
Recruitment may have stopped on purpose
Recruitment pauses automatically once you have enough eligible applicants relative to your quota. If your study shows Recruitment complete, you likely have plenty of options already; it doesn't mean something is wrong.
The most common blocker: your screener
Open-text screener questions can't filter recruitment, because there's no answer for the system to match against. If your key qualifying question is open text, everyone looks potentially eligible and the list fills with poor fits. When you contact us we'll often propose a closed-choice rewrite of that question, and we can apply it for you. Multiple-choice questions with clear qualify/disqualify options do the filtering for you.
Help us target the boost
Create segments for the cohorts you need, with a goal number in the name (for example "Qld, 16 to 30 (3)"). The Fulfilment team uses these to push for the right mix. See How to use Segments.
Keep criteria realistic. Slightly loosening a tight spec often unlocks far more supply than a boost does.
Tell us about split cohorts or quotas in live chat so we can recruit toward each group.
If the quota still can't be filled
Sometimes the audience simply isn't there at the size you need. Refunds for unfilled spots are handled manually: message us on live chat with the study title and the number of unfilled spots. Closing the study does not refund credits automatically, and refunded credits stay in your team balance for any future study.
