Yes, but custom durations are set by our team rather than in the builder. The builder offers fixed duration options, and anything outside them is a quick live chat request.
The standard options
Sessions (interviews and other moderated studies): fixed options up to 2 hours.
Tasks (unmoderated studies and surveys): a fixed dropdown. You'll find it as Estimated task duration in the Opportunity listing section of the Recruit tab.
Always set a duration before submitting. Studies missing a total task duration are rejected in review.
Need a longer or custom duration?
For anything not in the dropdown, for example a 3 hour focus group or a 7 minute task:
Build and submit your study with the closest available duration.
While the study is in review, message us on live chat with your study link and the exact duration you need.
Our team sets the custom duration in the backend and adjusts the incentive and credits to match before the study goes live.
You can also ask before submitting, but during review is the smoothest point because the incentive is finalised then.
Why we cap the options
Durations outside the standard ranges tend to hurt quality:
Long sessions lose participant engagement, and very long ones deter applications.
Underestimated durations rush participants and lower data quality.
Changing duration mid-study confuses participants who applied expecting a certain time commitment and incentive.
