Research types available

Use Askable to recruit for many different types of research such as in-person, remote, moderated/unmoderated, surveys, diary studies etc.

Updated over a week ago

With Askable, you can pretty much use us to find people for all research types. But it is important to know what we refer to them as so it makes sense to you. As well as to make sure you select the right one, when setting up your booking.

So let's take a look!

In Person

The original form of research, this is used for when you plan on doing moderated research, face to face with people. You can select the amount of time you want a session to be such as 30 mins all the way up to 2 hours. You then have two types of In Person, being 1 on 1 Interviews or Focus Groups.

1 on 1 Interviews

Select this option when you plan on interviewing or researching one person at a time. This allows you to allocate one person, per session that you create. For example, if you wanted to interview 10 people, you would recruit for 10 participants and then invite each one to their own session time.

Focus Groups

These run very similar to 1 on 1 Interviews, but the main difference being is that it allows you to invite multiple people to the one session that you setup. For example, if you are running two focus groups, both with 5 people in it. Your booking would be for 10 people and then you could invite 5 people to each session time.

Video Call

As the name suggests, choose this option when you plan on doing pretty much the same as above, but hosting it on via a video conferencing platform such as Zoom, Google Meet or of course our very own built in option, Askable Live.

You still have the option to run both 1 on 1 interviews OR Focus Groups with the Video Call research type in Askable and works exactly the same as mentioned above πŸ‘†

NOTE: Please ensure that your selected Video Conference tool supports the ability to have more than 1 participant connected at the same time if doing Focus Groups.

Online Tasks

Many things come under the banner of Online Tasks, these could include...

  • Prototype tests

  • Card Sorts

  • Tree Jacks

  • Diary Studies

  • Longitudinal Studies

And pretty much anything else that is unmoderated that is NOT just a simple survey.

Surveys

As the name suggests, use this one to run, you guessed it, SURVEYS!

If using a tool like SurveyMonkey, Typeform, Qualtrix etc. This is the option you want to use.

NOTE: Surveys currently can only be used for General consumers and not Professionals.

Longitudinal Bookings

We have now made it even easier to organise a diary study or longitudinal booking. This way you can setup a task that spans over multiple days, weeks or even months.

Custom Bookings

Now, you won't see this option in the setup of Askable or anything like that, but it's important to mention.

Askable can pretty much accomodate for anything, so if you ever need to do something that maybe just doesn't fit into one of the typical boxes. Perhaps you are looking for an extremely niche type of audience or doing a combo of moderated and unmoderated testing with the same people.

Anything like this, then please do get in touch with us via our Live Chat feature to discuss it with our team!
