First — it's almost never about you. Opportunities are offered based on specific eligibility criteria and quotas that researchers set for each study. If you don't match a particular one, plenty of others will suit you better. 👌
How opportunities work
Eligibility criteria — researchers target specific profiles: location, age, demographics, professional background, product use, and so on.
Quotas — once a study has enough participants of a certain type, further applications aren't considered, even if they match.
Timing & fit — even a strong profile might not match what a study needs at that moment. Every study is unique.
Tips to improve your success rate
Keep your profile updated — accurate, current demographic and professional info matches you to more studies. Add your profession and even your LinkedIn to build trust (see How to Boost your Profile).
Apply to studies that closely match your profile and interests.
Check often — new studies are posted frequently.
Answer screeners honestly and accurately — see Why am I asked so many questions? and the Honesty Policy.
Ineligible vs waitlisted
Ineligible = you didn't match this study's criteria.
Waitlisted = you matched, but the study was full — see I am on the waitlist.
As long as you're answering screeners accurately, we're certain you'll be picked for the right study before long. 🙂
