What kind of Information do you collect?

Information Collection and Privacy at Askable

When you sign up, we collect certain information to match you with relevant opportunities and to connect feedback with demographics for research. 🎉

What we collect

Required to create an account:

  1. Name

  2. Email address

  3. Phone number

  4. Date of birth

  5. General location / suburb

Optional (but they boost your matches):

  1. Professional information (e.g. job title or industry)

  2. Family status (e.g. married, retired)

  3. Education level (e.g. high school, university degree)

  4. Further details may be asked in individual application questions

See How to Boost your Profile for why the optional fields matter.

Why we collect it

We connect your feedback with demographic data so researchers can analyse patterns across groups and make informed decisions. For example, why a family might prefer to live near a school while a young person might choose the city — or how an elderly person consumes digital information differently to a 21-year-old.

Session recordings

For video sessions and AI interviews, your camera, microphone, and (where relevant) screen may be recorded — that's why you're asked for those permissions and sometimes to sign a consent/agreement. See Why am I asked to sign an Agreement?

How it's protected

We take the security of your data seriously. Information — especially sensitive data — is encrypted using highly secure methods, in line with our Privacy Policy. 🔒
