VPN connections aren't allowed on Askable. If you access your account using a VPN, you won't be able to log in. This keeps the platform secure and trustworthy for everyone.
Why we do this
Preventing fraud — VPNs are often used to mask identity and location. Blocking them keeps participation honest and genuine.
Accurate research — researchers rely on real demographics and locations. No-VPN access means the data they receive is locally relevant and trustworthy.
What this means for you
Don't use a VPN when accessing Askable.
Without a VPN, you can use all of Askable normally.
🤔 "I'm not using a VPN" — but I'm still blocked
1. Check for a VPN you didn't realise was on
Phone: open Settings and search "VPN". On iPhone, check VPN & Device Management.
Computer: open an IP-address checker site. If the location shown differs from where you actually are, a VPN is likely active.
Apple iPhone users can tap into VPN & Device Management to check if a VPN is running.
2. Turn off Private Relay (Apple users)
iCloud Private Relay acts like a VPN — turn it off here.
3. Try a different device or browser
If Askable works elsewhere, your original device/browser probably has a VPN or ad-blocker on — disable it using the steps above.
4. Try a different network
Some networks get flagged as high-risk. Switch to a different Wi-Fi or mobile data to see if access returns.
