How to manage Study Quotas?

Needing to ensure you have a specific split quotas, personas or cohorts? Let us know!

Your quota is the total number of participants you want to complete your study. You set it on the Recruit tab, and you can split it across audience segments with quota targets.

Set your total quota

  1. Open your study and go to the Recruit tab.

  2. Use the Number of participants slider to set the total.

Set the total for the whole project. If you want to speak to 5 men and 5 women, set the quota to 10 and split it using quota targets.

Split your quota across groups

Use Quota targets on the Recruit tab to define audience segments and apply a custom participant quota to each one. This lets the system manage splits like gender, age bands or screener-based groups for you.

If you'd rather manage the mix yourself, switch to hand picking and track your groups with segments.

Increase your quota after launch

Quota increases on a live study are handled by our team. Message us on live chat with your study link and the new total, and we'll update it and confirm the credit difference. This is a routine request, so don't hesitate.

What if I can't fill my quota?

Tell us via live chat. We can push your study out to more of the panel and suggest setup tweaks (often a screener fix) to surface the right people. If spots are still unfilled when your research wraps up, ask us on live chat about a credit refund for the unfilled spots.

Is there a maximum number of participants?

Some study types have a per-study cap on participant numbers. Video call studies typically cap at a smaller number than unmoderated studies. If the slider won't go as high as you need, contact us via live chat and we'll advise the best setup, which is often splitting into multiple studies.
